Minutes And News 11.06

These people actually showed up: Audrey Brotman, Ann & George Schmidt, Kay Stemnock, Sue & Spence Schmidt, Dale & Carolyn Kern, Pat & Andrea Perry, and Linda Kowalczyk

At this meeting:

Meeting was held at Ann & George's house so we could watch the Bears game too. As meeting was taking place...George was busy slapping meat...he was slapping cheese as well...he goes both ways. The Holiday Hoopla will be held on December 3rd ... 1 pm ... at Bob Chinn's Crabhouse in Wheeling. As usual, attending HMW members will pay a portion and HMW will make up the difference.. It was decided (by Linda) that we will not have our annual Silent Auction during our Holiday Hoopla...Linda wants to party, drink Mai Tai's and be merry...she doesn't want to work at the Silent Auction. Everyone agreed because they knew they had no other choice! It was then decided that the Silent Auction will be held in Spring...maybe in March. While on the subject of Mai Tai's ... we discovered that Audrey & Andrea don't drink ... we agreed to love them anyway. Besides, George and Pat drink enough to make up for them. We discussed once again asking an artist to create an exclusive piece for HMW for 2007. This was a much heated discussion and we are just killing George! Mainly because we didn't agree with him. We have decided which artist we are going to ask...but since we haven't talked to him yet...we ain't tellin' .... but, we will keep you posted as soon as we have some definite plans. When Linda ordered the Easy Rider Dragons from David Lawrence, she was sneaky and ordered some special color ways. Some are to be used for charity and some to be given to the members who have worked so hard volunteering for HMW this year, especially at the Fin-Alley Summer Event this past July. David also sent us 3 color trials, the group voted to give these to Linda since she pretty much handled the dragon sales single handed. Linda is ever so grateful and is still blushing. The group then decided that there was some confusion on who are our reigning officers and committee heads. So an internal investigation ensued and a re-vote was taken.
