|
|
|
-
Thanks once again to Pat Perry, our Helping Hands Coordinator, for taking
the minutes.
-
What will we do for Rosemont to raise money for charity? That's the big
topic of today. Any ideas?
-
Andrea got sun burned at Hanover Park's Maxwell St. flea market on
Saturday selling stuff. Which will happen again Sept 20th, email Andrea for
details.

-
Linda was invited to be "T"s date for the HOP Dinner. Nobody from
Harmony Midwest will be going except maybe Linda. (Chump) It's not as
much fun as when it first started. It's just dinner now.
-
Andrea finally showed up with the "Stuck behind a train" excuse. Yeah,
right.
-
Saturday's Evenings HOP Reunion at Rosemont (How it should go)
5-7 Swap & Sell (Pat & Andrea have a table, come,
visit, buy)
7:30-8:30 Social Hour (Drink a lot so you
will buy lots of raffle tickets & bid high at the auction)
8:30-9:45 Dinner (again drink it)
9:45-11 raffles & auction (more drink) -
Penises were mentioned, once again!
-
Ann called Pat a BOOB!
-
Ideas for Rosemont
* Nancy wants the discussion to shift above the waist. We don't think
that will happen.
* Nancy will probably make little clip-on bears with HK logo on the vest
or hat
* Barb had an idea with little candle pots but too much to tote around
the show
* Not a whole lot of ideas this year
* Andrea will have HMW lady bug & bumble bee pins for sale, like last
year. -
Linda said "orientated". She was immediately corrected by Ann & Pat.
-
We are not sure if tables will be set up for clubs at Rosemont or what
will happen.
Last year was a disaster, many Harmonicas were missing & unaccounted for.
Too many people in-charge and not following a leader.
-
We all will meet at 11 am on Friday, June 27 at the HK booth at
Rosemont, if we all can get in at that time, bring your business card.
If we can not get in at 11 am, then plan on 3 pm when the doors open to
the public
and knock down everyone that gets in your way to the HK booth to stand in
line for the War & Peace limited HK piece.
-
Ann has a room at the Hyatt (ask to rent by the hour, kidding,
it's a joke) Linda suggests the club pay for it. We will take that up in a month
or so, after the show.
-
The one time Jeff has a President's Report to report, he could not be
with us. He is spending time with his sick mother who is not doing well. Our
blessings go out to her. But he did email details to us. Thank you Mr.
President!
-
Two new pieces for the Mythological grouping are being designed. "Pure
Heart" and "Greenman's Grove" are the two introductions. "Greenman's Grove"
shows a green man in the form of a tree, sheltering a variety of animals with
his boughs, carved by Mel Heald. "Pure Heart" is a unicorn, by Monique Baldwin.
-
Ann called Linda a wild boar. I can't say what Linda called Ann.
-
Peter's new carvings: "Boom Box" is a box fish, which is known to release
a poison to protect itself, earning it the nickname "neutron bomb fish."
"Pod Parade" is a group of sperm whales.
-
Andrea brought up that a Sperm Whale's penis are 5 to 5.5 feet long.
Nancy said they have a bone inside which is highly collectable for a
certain crowd. They have been know to be used as swizzle sticks.
The talk from then on was right in the gutter.
-
Also new is "Ed's Safari IV" a safari bus is crammed full of animals. We
all love this one, way to go Peter!
-
The top secret? HK news is about a new series called Coverts. Covets are
the work of artist Monique Baldwin. Exteriors and interiors of the boxes feature
animals and other objects that are partially incised into the box and
partially sculpted in 3-D. They appear to look like Jardinia with an animal on
top.
-
Ann showed us the very collectable and very limited (ha, ha) "The
Bachelor" Pot Bellys.
-
More gutter talk was going on after seeing the butt's on The
Bachelors holding the hearts.
-
Ann hit Caroline in the head, blood was everywhere (kidding
again!)
-
Also new from HK, Byron's Bouquets. Sounds a little too cute (Schmaltzy).
About Lord Byron's family as their little baby bug grows. Pieces are called
"Baby's First" such as Steps and School
-
David Lawrence introduces more cats for mid-year and a 2003 Holiday Edition
angel.
Thank you Mr. President! (Thanks Jeff for the report) -
Pat & Andrea bought lady bug plates & napkins and a couple of items to be
raffled.
Nobody was as excited as the Perry's about this stuff. I bet you guys
can't wait till the next meeting! -
Linda passed out numbers and called out the prizes to be raffled.
* Pat - Gay Head Harbour Lights little lighthouse (Pat was Gay
(happy) about this)
* Nancy - a different Harbour Lights little lighthouse
* Barb - Lady bug boot with hearts candy
* Spence - Lady bug boot with hearts candy
* Sue - Lady bug magnet
* Caroline - Harbour Lights Acrylic in memory of "New York Twin Towers Skyline"
* Andrea - squirrel QT
* Dale - ? (Didn't get that happy lighthouse Pat won.
-
Our next
Meeting
will be July 20, 2003?.
