2.10.02

In attendance were:
Linda Kowalczyk, Avis Saville, Barb Correa, Joann Sclafini,
Sue & Spencer Schmidt, Ann & George Schmidt, Nancy & Jeff Hix,
Andrea & Pat Perry, Sloan Muir, Tim Sieczko, Joyce Christesen
At this meeting: Jardinia
  • We opened by Greeting and Welcoming our two new members, Joann Sclafini and Sloan Muir. We all introduced ourselves and described our titles and duties (or lack of) in the club.
  • Now it's time to EAT!!!! Avis brought her famous éclair cake. It's worth joining the club just for that!
  • Everyone pronounced George the "Official Scapegoat" for this meeting, as he brought really cheap plates to put the food on.
  • Apparently we need to discuss and update our by-laws or HBC will give us a sound thrashing. We wisely left most of this up to Linda (who's the "Official Scapegoat" now?), because she handles most of this anyway and the rest of us don't much care.
  • We decided on our new Charities for 2002:
    1) Fried's Cat Shelter will remain our choice for animal charity.
    2) A Shelter For Battered Women will be our people charity.
  • Door Prize Time:
We handed out lot's of Harbor Lights' pieces, more "Pssst" pins, calendars, and Linda promised to bring our new members plenty of that great jewelry that HBC so graciously dumped, er, I mean donated to us.
  • We did discuss our disappointment at the cancellation of the I.G.C.E. show at Atlantic City. While we understand the financial hindrances of holding a show with just a hand full of companies, many of us had all ready purchased airline tickets and will get screwed.
  • We asked Jeff if he had heard anything from HBC about how they would handle the "Breakfast With An Artist" for Rosemont. It looks as though they will try to have a larger event to try and compensate for Atlantic City. But, unfortunately, there isn't much they can do for those people that where going to Atlantic City and not to Rosemont.
  • Show & Tell:
    1) Linda brought the "Christmas Crackers" from both Monique Baldwin & Adam Binder that she had just received from England.
    2) She also brought a Bon Enfant that she won on Ebay that has a major Boo-Boo on it.
  • Our next Meeting will be March 10, 2002.
