Many Thanks to our Humble
Servant Pat Perry for filling in and jotting down these minutes, AGAIN!!!
|
-
At some point, the meeting came to order. Of course I say "some
point" because I wasn't there yet. Andrea and I showed up fashionably
late; unfortunately, it was my turn to supply the food. I don't think they'll
ask me to do that again. When we did show up, I had to be "caught up"
with the business that had preceded my arrival.
-
According to Jeff, Anna Ryan and Al are now running things at Harmony
Ball; we know they will do a fine job.
-
We received an e-mail from Harmony Ball relating to our charity work.
Apparently they would like us to actually get our hands dirty rather than
just donating money. Well, it turns out that Linda volunteers her time as an art
instructor at her children's school. Linda said it would be great if we could
have a "Paint-Your-Own" event at the school. When the wild
cheering settled down, we all agreed that this would be a lot of fun (with a
little whimsy thrown in). The added benefit to this charity event would
be Harmony Ball's donation of "Paint Your Own" pieces and a
Harmony Kingdom tile set to the school. More wild cheering.
-
At this point, we all started digging into the food. Pat
(hey, that's me) and Andrea Perry brought a veggie tray and a tray of Hawaiian
bread with spinach dip. Spence and Sue brought a large bowl of their famous
pudding; it's always a hit.
-
We discussed our plans for Rosemont next. It was decided that we would
run another "Touchy-Feely" Contest like we did at the
convention last year. We also decided to raffle off the Noah's Park Tile Set,
the Y2HK boat and Francis (lighten up Francis). More details will be discussed
at our next meeting on June 24th. We agreed that it would be good to have a
meeting the week before Rosemont, this way we will be able to plot and scheme
at the last minute.
-
Andrea volunteered to help Linda with the newsletter if needed.
She also volunteered to make up an insert for the newsletter to advertise our
raffle of the entire set of early Adam Binder Fairies.
-
We are Officially raffling off the full set of early Adam Binder
Fairies. The drawing will be on October 5, 2001 at Fin-Alley Gifts in
Morton Grove. It's just a coincidence that Adam Binder will be at
Fin-Alley Gifts that day for an event / signing. At this point, we think that
our raffle tickets will be sold for $10 each or 6 for $50. We might change this
at the next meeting.
-
At this point, Jeff Hix gave a dramatic reading of the poem / clue
that appeared in the latest Royal Watch e-mail. As part of a Harmony
Kingdom contest, we are supposed to guess the name of the piece from the various
clues that have been given
-
Door Prizes were the next item on the agenda. Larry & Mary brought
some interesting items for the prizes. Jacqui and Nancy both won Lady Bug
Windsocks. Pat won a Lady Bug sunglass clip and Jeff won a Lady Bug
Butter Dish.
-
Paul brought Noah's Quark with him because he had some questions about
it. He wanted to know the names of the people on the ship; none of us
knew. Then Paul read a definition of Quark.
-
Quark: An elementary electrical particle that is believed to be the
"Building Block" from which sub-atomic particles such as protons and
neutrons are constructed.
-
Linda was caught licking the spoon from Spence & Sue's Famous
Pudding. We can't take her anywhere.
-
More Door Prizes: Andrea won a Minx Pendant from the Anaheim Show, Jeff
and Louise won HK Pins from QVC. This round of prizes was donated by Fin-Alley
Gifts.
-
Next was our usual Show & Tell segment. Jeff brought three
variations and a prototype of the Ingenue Angel. Larry brought his Laptop
so he could show off the Harmony Kingdom Database Software. It seems like a
great piece of software with a few small exceptions. Ann brought the newest
NALED piece "Take A Bow". Jacqui brought the latest Collect-It
piece "Confined Claws".
-
At this point, general chatter ensued. This was followed by local
folklore (gossip). There was a lot more chatter and then the meeting came
to it's inevitable end.
