Many Thanks to our Humble
Servant Pat Perry for filling in and jotting down these minutes!!!

Ann provided the food for this meeting because George was
too busy rebuilding the web site to pay attention to our nutritional needs. When
the food was presented, we all agreed to fire Ann from her temporary
position as the club chef. This was not due to a lack of quality (everyone loved
the sausages); we just didn’t like the fact that she came in under budget.
George would never do such a thing.
-
The first order of business was a donation to the club by The Harmony Ball
Company. HBC donated a YT42HK teapot, three sets of tiles (Wimberley Tales,
Byron’s Secret Garden and Noah’s Park), and a double sterling rose.
-
Linda read a letter from the House of Peers. According to this letter, we
are an officially recognized Harmony Kingdom club. In order to stay
official we need to appoint five members as coordinators. The following people
were appointed:
- Communications coordinator: Linda Kowalczyk
- Membership coordinator: Jeff Hix
- Meeting coordinator: Avis Saville
- Charity coordinator: Nancy Hix
- Helping Hands coordinator: Pat Perry
-
We found out that Jeff’s book is now on hold waiting for another
publisher. The original publisher "flaked out" on him. I guess
he just couldn’t do more than one thing at a time. Jeff’s book is not dead,
it is just delayed. We can’t wait for Jeff’s book.
-
Someone mentioned that British collectibles is moving to a new location,
across the street from where they are now.
-
The meeting fell into chaos as we discussed the origins and effectiveness
of various different swear words. Both English and Yiddish words were
discussed. We were informed of the difference between the terms "schmuck"
and "putz"; it was very informative. Mary said she knows a
woman who could teach a sailor to swear. Apparently this woman has a cute
nickname for her children, but we can’t discuss that here
-
When decorum was restored Linda felt that it was a good time to hand out
more Yarrow seeds. The Yarrow is a bushy fern-like plant with white
flowers. Apparently it attracts ladybugs.
-
Jeff gave his President’s report. He said that Nick Dangar is no longer
the President and CEO of The Harmony Ball Company, and a reorganization
is under way. For those who didn’t know, Prince Brian’s contract with
HBC ran out and was not renewed. Apparently HBC no longer needed a bright,
energetic company liaison. He was part of the personality of Harmony Kingdom and
we will all miss him.
-
Next, Nancy gave her Charity report. Ron Atlas was unable to attend so he
sent a letter to Nancy about our Charitable trust. It is still in the
process of being created; we are waiting for a seal and a book for the
corporation. We have to wait for the "Inc." to dry (chuckle).
-
A member informed us that the Untouchables Harmony Kingdom club is having
some sort of internal struggle and that their future is uncertain.
-
We talked about the various electronic bulletin boards for HK and other
collectibles. Most of us agreed that they have become unnecessary and boring.
They seem to be filled up with a lot of "trash" talk and stupid
questions about someone’s favorite color, etc.
-
Next on the agenda was Show and Tell. Spencer and Sue brought the four
Disney pieces that were available this past Christmas. Avis wanted to bring
the Donald Duck piece home for her husband Donald; we all know how much
he loves collectibles. Ann brought some of the new pieces: Slow Dance,
Saint or Sinner, Midas Touch, Bush Baby, Finky, Sid and Pongo’s Palm. Some of
the members had not seen the new pieces yet, so this was exciting. It was agreed
that Pongo looks like George Burns.
-
In another kind of Show and Tell, Avis showed us her new tattoo
(body decoration). It’s an abstract that wraps around her ankle. We then
discussed the best place to go for a tattoo.
-
Jeff brought some Teapot Angel prototypes along with the regular versions
of each for comparison. The prototypes were painted very differently from the
production versions. For some, this was the first time seeing these pieces.
-
Next we checked the condition of the donated pieces. Andrius found some chips,
but they were in a bowl next to the dip. One of the tiles featured angels
creating "yellow rain". We all found this to be very
interesting.
-
The PSST pins were passed out to the attending members, we still have a
few for future members. There was a drawing. Ann and Nancy won pieces of stale
candy left over from our Holiday Party.
-
To close the meeting, we all lined up against the wall and were shot
(with Jeff’s new digital camera).
-
Our next
Meeting
will be April 22, 2001.
