Harmony Midwest Collectors Club Minutes And News
9.10.00

In attendance were:
Linda Kowalczyk, Sharon Bufton, Avis Saville
Ann & George Schmidt, Jacqui Adler,
Jeff & Nancy Hix, Lauren Atlas, Andrea & Pat Perry
Susan Gruhn & Thomas Wengerski, Larry LePage
At this meeting:
  • We discussed the up & coming Winterfest pieces and how Cool they were.
  • It was decided that we will remove our Bulletin Board from our website as HBC has a board set up for us. And if our webmaster gets off his butt , maybe he can set up a link from our site to it.
  • "Psst... Are You A Member" is the new pin HBC will send out to people who are members of both the Royal Watch and an Independent Club. ( Psst .... it appears the clubs will have to pay the shipping for these pieces to our members, which could be substantial.) We will decide at a later date what to do about this.
  • We whimsically made fun of some members who live quite close and had shown up for the first time. They also received a handshake & a smile .
  • Linda is trying to keep things rolling because she claims we have a lot to do..... Yeah Right!!!
  • Jeff has written a little Blurb about HMW for the QC so a more accurate & silly representation of our club will be printed.
  • Lauren volunteered to help with mailing, soliciting :) and shlepping. Sharon also said she would shlep.
  • ANNUAL OFFICERS ELECTION

The current officers were all voted in unanimously for another term.

    El Presidente: Jeffrey Hix, Esq.
The President with the most Vice: Nancy Hix
Secretary / Web-guy: Sir George Schmidt, Deceased
Bean-Counter / Newsletter: Mme. Linda Kowalczyk (partially clothed)

And because we don't want anyone to think we don't take this seriously , we actually raised our hands.
  • Our 3rd Annual Oktoberfest will be Oct. 15, 2000.
    All are welcome.
Food , Fun , Fictitious Flirting , and Fast-Paced Tom-Foolery will be had by all. We will also have a Chinese Auction . Everyone is asked to bring a $5.00 Gag Gift.
  • Linda is still trying to keep things rolling , Hurry, Hurry!!!
  • Pam of the Royal Watch wants us to fill out a survey about how we feel about HOP . We continued after the loud laughter subsided. But after reading a few of the questions, the laughter started again.
  • We discussed the form from HBC that needs to be filled out so we may continue being a sanctioned club ..... More Laughter
  • We made Small Scads of money from our Pins & Raffles at Rosemont. But we need to think of our next great nick-nack to sell.
  • Charities:
We will decide at our next meeting what our new ones will be. Bring a suggestion for one people & one animal.
  • We are all very disappointed with the way Nancy was summarily dismissed by HOP and we decided that it was their loss and we will be bigger about it and move on.
  • We are now receiving our presents from HBC . A 1994 New Product Supplement. Thank you, HBC
  • SHOW & TELL:
Sharon's Peter was viewed and was larger than life
Susan brought a Tea Pot Angel, a Daisy Basket, and a No-Vine Horn 'o Plenty
