Minutes And News
9.12.99
In attendance at this meeting were:
Linda Kowalczyk, Mary & Larry LePage, Simone Flynn
Ann & George Schmidt, Nancy & Jeff Hix, Pat & Andrea Perry
Rich Manherz, Edie Overstreet, and Nancy Snow
At this meeting:
  • Nancy Hix greeted the newbies after telling Simone and George to quit holding their own little meeting.
  • We discussed why that other Infamous Dealer could have a club 3 miles from our own when HOP BYLAWS state that they have to be at least 50 miles or 2 hours from us. We were apparently told from Harmony Ball "Tough" .
  • Nancy Hix says that the Claire De Lune place is definitely worth it and hopes everyone has signed up by Sept. 15th so they can get their Dragon Breath piece. Also, if there are any suggestions for activities for the convention, please let her know.
  • Nancy Snow says our directions STINK and Larry said that everything in the Kingdom is subject to change...even directions, so we will see what we can do about getting better ones up so no one gets lost next time.
  • We all discussed our Birthdays (you had to have been there) and Simone is definitely not a Virgo !
  • Linda says we have quite a few bucks and that we were the first club to pay for our Banner . She asked Harmony Ball what we got for being first and Chris Clements from HBC said "A Hearty Thank You" . Gee, thanks!!
  • Our 2nd Annual Oktoberfest will be October 10th from 2-6 pm. Food will be "the sort of big sandwich" and pizza. Also, everyone was asked to bring a little something. We will have a No Table Fee Swap & Sell and lot's o' door prizes including but certainly not limited to: a Jingle Bell Rock and a Mystery Signed thing . We will also crown our new Harvest Queen .
  • We decided to put up the clubs Y2HK on Ebay to make a quick buck.
  • Some one had asked when she would receive her Membership Packet . HA,HA,HA
  • Still discussing whether to send our Newsletter via snail mail and also e-mail. The Newsletter is costing us a fortune to print, but Linda found a new and cheaper place. BRAVO !! Also, George showed Linda how to add pretty pictures to the newsletter and we all oooooed and aaahhhed at a sneak peek of the next issue.
  • Nancy Hix has her fingers in a lot of pots (you had to have been there).
  • HOP Raffle ....... cough up the money.....Ann (you had to have been there).
  • Pat and Andrea missed a shower to be with us. Aren't they the Best?!!
  • Voting on NEW OFFICERS ........Drum roll:
Nancy Hix has her fingers once again in too many pots and has passed on being HMW President. She was a little verklempted at the thought of having to step down.
Jeff Hix was nominated and won the vote for President
Andy Gerulis was nominated and won the vote for Vice-President
Linda Kowalczyk was nominated and won the vote for Treasurer / Newsletter
George Schmidt was nominated and won the vote for Secretary / Webmaster (Now let's just see if he can get the website updated a little more promptly!!)
  • We talked about the who, how and how much of Refreshments and it was decided that George would be the Refreshment Czar , with HMW paying a small amount for the food.
  • Our next meeting after Oktoberfest will be November 14, 1999 and we talked about the possibility of a December Holiday Outing .
  • Door Prizes were awarded to:
    Pumkinfest Poster.......Simone Flynn
    HK Stationary..........Nancy Snow
World's Smallest and Most Powerful Clock Radio (which by the way, Simone highly recommended).........Simone Flynn (Oh yeah, it figures!)
  • We enjoyed a Great Big Cake that Jeff & Nancy brought for Ann & George's anniversary which happened to be that day. (Thank's guys, it was very thoughtful and very much appreciated....George)
  • SHOW & TELL
Nancy Hix brought the covers of her upcoming new books: 2ND EDITION "A Collector's Guide to Buying, Selling and Trading on the Internet and her 1ST EDITION "A Collector's Guide to Online Auctions" Best of luck with those....Nanc.
Jeff Hix brought his very rare and very expensive Angel Barouque and the two prototypes of the Teapot Angels . Way too beautiful!!!!
